An affair of the heart for us

With nature in our hearts, we want to create an honest and mindful atmosphere and moments of enjoyment. For guests, employees, partners and us as the Psenner family alike.

Even our grandparents were closely connected to nature. Grandfather Gottfried as a miller and grandfather Max as a farmer. They taught us that life is not just about taking, but above all about giving. Mindfulness towards people and the environment are the foundation for a successful life.

Our Hotel Ratschingserhof was awarded the Tyrol-South Tyrol environmental seal back in 1995. Then as now, we as a family are enthusiastic nature lovers and want to share this attitude with all our partners.

Heat production with local wood chips

We have been generating energy with wood chips from the region for over 40 years. For Karl, as a former woodworker and "forest man", it was almost logical to choose this form of energy generation. It is a sustainable and environmentally friendly method of generating heat and electricity: renewable, as trees can grow back as long as they are managed sustainably. For us, it is also a way of using local resources and supporting the regional economy.

Mobility

Traveling by train and bus is convenient, safe and environmentally friendly, as well as relaxing. Our location is a clear advantage here. As we are really well connected to public transport and our guests receive a personal ACITVCARD, there is actually no need for a CAR...

The availability of a charging station for electric cars directly behind our hotel is not only convenient, but also a sustainable decision. Electric cars produce no direct emissions and thus contribute to the reduction of air pollution and greenhouse gases.

Local products

At the Ratschingserhof, we rely on high-quality local products that come directly from farmers such as "Nestlhof", "S'Goggile", beekeeper Peter or "Biohof Waldförster". Fresh eggs, butter and honey are just a few examples. This proximity to the source guarantees our guests an authentic and enjoyable experience with the best flavors of South Tyrol. Our local focus supports the regional economy and contributes to sustainable gastronomy.

Employees

Some of our employees, including Ingrid, Alexander and Helga, come directly from our village of Stange and simply walk or cycle to work. These environmentally friendly habits actively contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. At our hotel, we support and encourage such behaviors from our employees by promoting flexible working hours and actively supporting environmentally friendly means of transportation. Together we make a positive contribution to the environment and sustainability in our business.

Avoiding waste

A lot of waste is produced in a hotel. For this reason, it is important to purchase products that are packaged as little as possible. When selecting hygiene products etc., we pay close attention to the possibility of refilling. Our precious drinking water replaces expensively produced mineral water. The waste that is nevertheless produced is carefully separated. We also help our guests to separate waste by offering a waste separation station in the hotel.

Local materials and construction methods

As far as the eye can see... we use local materials to minimize transport routes and make our hotel more energy-efficient. All our rooms are furnished with natural wood and natural stone from the region. Here at the Ratschingserhof, we consistently use local companies for renovation work in order to support small businesses and strengthen the local economy.
